Bassetti Group is a European leader in digital transformation solutions, helping manufacturers optimize processes through innovation management software. They needed their expertise to reach Chinese audiences directly.
Bassetti needed a dedicated Chinese website for their local market. Their international website ran on WordPress and Elementor, but China's internet operates differently. Western hosting, Google integrations, and common APIs hit the Great Firewall and either crawl or don't load at all.
The goal: duplicate their website for Chinese users, in Chinese, accessible within China. The reality? Everything needed rebuilding from scratch to work behind the firewall.
We started with compliance and infrastructure.
First, .cn domain registration and ICP license application. The ICP (Internet Content Provider) license is mandatory for any website hosted in mainland China. Think of it as your website's passport. Without it, your site cannot go live. The process involves government review of business credentials and content plans.
Then came migration to China-based cloud hosting. We audited every external resource call.
Google Fonts? Replaced with China alternatives.
Google Analytics? Swapped for local solutions. Third-party APIs outside China? Relocated or eliminated.
The WordPress and Elementor stack stayed, but we rebuilt the technical foundations. Every plugin, script, and dependency got reviewed. If it called outside China's borders, it had to go or get replaced.
Bassetti's Chinese website launched within weeks. It loads fast with no blocked Google resources timing out. Chinese visitors get the smooth experience European visitors enjoy on the international site.
It's fully compliant with Chinese internet regulations. The technical cleanup optimized performance beyond many locally-built competitors. Speed matters in China's mobile-first market, and Bassetti now has that advantage.
